Restoring Hardwood Floors
Sanding a well used floor back to a great, light modern finish.
For floor sanding I hire professional equipment as well as use my own detail sanders – A good finish can’t be achieved without professional sanders. The key is to be patient, spending time on the initial course sanding, especially for old/uneven floors that have not been sanded for a long time.
Here I used a matt finish clear varnish that maintains that fresh light wood colour almost entirely – This gives a modern perhaps Scandinavian style.
Modern sanders have great dust extraction systems but I still tape up every door to contain the dust in the room.
